Foot-care Tips For Winter Warriors

Winter warriors may be strong on the slopes, but they are not invulnerable. Without proper socks and boots, feet may suffer from blisters, infections or even frostbite, a painful condition that could result in the loss of toes. The American Podiatric Medical Association offers the following tips on keeping your feet warm and dry this winter: Buy thicker socks with insulation. To increase warmth, choose a thicker sock made of wool and cotton. A synthetic, such as polyester or nylon, will help to wick away moisture. Podiatrists recommend a single pair of thick socks, but thinner synthetic socks or liner socks can be layered under warm, thicker socks if necessary. Buy socks that are appropriate to your winter activity. Hunters and snowmobilers should always wear thick socks for extended warmth because they re stationary for long periods. Runners don t need to be so particular because running itself generates enough body heat to keep the feet warm. For a list of socks that hold the...

Three Levels Of Exciting Limousines

We all know those black and white stretch limousines that seem to be everywhere nowadays. They all look the same. They all look just like normal luxury sedans if it weren t for the stretched passenger compartment. It doesn t really matter if the stretch limousines are based on Cadillacs, Lincolns or Mercedes Benzs. Luckily limousines don t have to be that boring. Limousines that are a lot more exciting do exist, but they are better at hiding from public view. Maybe it s because they are more expensive and difficult to make. The only thing we know is that most limousine companies seem to prefer the traditional stretch limousines to the more exciting models. The least exciting of the exciting limousines are somewhat similar to the traditional black and white stretch limousines. The difference is that they are based on something else than the normal luxury sedans. The least exciting of the exciting limousines can for example be based on a small car like a mini or they can be...

The Dancing Bears Of Inuit Art

Inuit art has been introduced to the non-Arctic world for several decades now and has enjoyed a nice climb in stature as a fine art form. Throughout the years, Inuit stone carvers have changed their artwork a bit as a result of market feedback and demand. Generally speaking, they managed to make artistic changes in response to the market without losing the northern Arctic spirit of their Inuit art form. Inuit art stone carvings have become larger and more polished compared to those early primitive looking carvings that made their debut in the commercial art market years ago. One of the later innovations in stone carvings from the Inuit art world was the dancing bear. The Inuit carvers from Cape Dorset in Nunavut sometimes added humor and play into their artwork. They gave animals such as polar bears some human like characteristics. Instead of carving polar bears only in walking positions or other poses often seen in the natural wild, the carvers began to make the bears in...

Perfect Packing For Women

There has been many articles written on packing luggage. My own mother taught me to pack with tissue paper between all of your articles of clothing. That would be totally impractical today with the weight restrictions on baggage. You want to fill your suitcase with clothing, not with paperThe new upright wheeling luggage has its own restrictions on packing. It requires a different method of layering your clothing. I always begin with underwear on the bottom against the bars which are actually the pull up handle underneath the lining. This evens out the bottom of the case for the next layer of clothing. It simplifies things to plan what I ll be wearing in advance. I have everything on a thin wire hanger that comes from the dry cleaners. These are the lightest weight hangers and will take up the least amount of room in the suitcase. The blouse goes on the hanger first, followed by the slacks underneath and the jacket on top. If there s a pin that matches the suit, pin it to the...
